There are a handful of roads in Vietnam that riders talk about for the rest of their lives. The Ha Giang Loop is at the top of that list.
Ha Giang Province sits at Vietnam's northernmost edge, where the country meets China across a landscape of fractured limestone, plunging gorges, and terraced mountains that seem too steep to farm — yet the Hmong, Tay, and Dao communities up here have been doing it for centuries. The scenery is unlike anything else in Southeast Asia, and the roads — particularly the Ma Pi Leng Pass and the Tham Ma Slope — are among the most dramatic riding in the region.
Our three-day loop covers the full circuit: from the twin peaks of Quan Ba Heaven's Gate on day one, through the Ma Pi Leng Pass and a boat trip through Tu San Canyon on day two, to the quieter valleys and Lung Tam linen weavers on the return. Nights are spent in Dong Van Ancient Town and in a traditional Tay stilt house homestay in Du Gia — two very different kinds of evening, both worth the ride to get there.
You can ride pillion with one of our experienced Easy Riders, or take the handlebars yourself on a semi-automatic or manual bike. Either way, we handle the route, the accommodation, the food, and the stories behind every mountain and village you pass through.
Leave Ha Giang City after a safety briefing, route overview, and bike check with your Easy Rider. The first climb is the Bac Sum Slope to Quan Ba Heaven's Gate: a viewpoint above the Twin Mountains (the Fairy Bosom) where the plateau road begins and the tone for the next three days is set. A coffee stop at the viewpoint, then on toward Yen Minh for lunch.
The afternoon tackles the famous Tham Ma Slope, crosses onto the Dong Van Rocky Plateau, and arrives at Vuong Mansion — the Hmong King's Palace, a national monument blending Chinese, French colonial, and Hmong architecture, built in the early 20th century by the powerful Vuong clan. Arrive Dong Van Ancient Town before dark: hotpot dinner, then free time to wander the old quarter at night.
Banh Mi moment: Dong Van old quarter after dinner on foot. Torchlit stone alleys at high altitude, almost no other tourists, the oldest part of one of Vietnam's highest towns still quietly in use.

Your tour begins early on Day 1 in Ha Giang City. The arrival transfer and your first overnight in Ha Giang are included in the tour price at no extra charge. Bus pick-up is available from Hanoi, Ha Long, Sapa, Ninh Binh, Cat Ba, Noi Bai Airport, and Cao Bang. Check in the evening before so you are rested and ready to ride by morning.
