Everyone who comes to Hoi An walks the old town. Far fewer make it out to the countryside that surrounds it — and that's exactly where the quieter, more enduring character of the place lives.
This half-day cycling route follows the landscape just beyond the tourist centre: the herb gardens of Tra Que, where farmers grow the fresh vegetables that end up on every restaurant table in town; rice fields and shrimp farms along the flat delta roads; the traditional homes and areca palm gardens of An My Village; and the nipa palm-lined waterways of Cam Thanh, where the Thu Bon's tributaries spread out toward the sea. The route ends with a break at a café known to locals before the easy ride back to your hotel.

Vietnam lze navštívit po celý rok. Sever je v zimě (leden, únor) chladnější, na horách může i sněžit. Podzim (září, říjen) bývá ve středním Vietnamu deštivý. Jih je teplý po celý rok, od března do konce září s minimem srážek s výjimkou některých ostrovů. Nejlepší doba k návštěvě: únor–červen a září–prosinec.

Very easy. The entire route is flat and follows quiet village lanes with minimal traffic. Anyone comfortable on a bicycle can do it at a relaxed pace.
Around 15 to 20 kilometres over the four hours, including stops. The pace is easy and the guide adjusts to the group.
A farming community just north of Hoi An that has grown herbs and vegetables for the town's restaurants for centuries. The soil is fertilised with river algae rather than chemicals, which is why the herbs taste noticeably different here.
At your hotel in Hoi An at the agreed departure time — 08:00 for the morning slot, 14:00 for the afternoon. Confirm your slot and hotel address when you book.
The route runs year-round. October to March is the most comfortable for cycling. From April to August, heat and humidity are significant by mid-morning — book the early departure slot if you're visiting in summer.
